| SC orders arrest of killers of Bakhtiar Domki's wife in 4 days |
| ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered the IG Sindh Police to arrest the killers of wife and daughter of Bakhtiar Domki within four days, Geo News reported.
The apex court has orderd that the killers be arrested irrespective of their influence.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had taken suo moto notice of the targeted killing of Balochistan MPA Bakhtiar Domki's wife and daughter and summoned IG Mushtaq Shah and Advocate General Sindh. |

| SC suspends membership of 28 legislators |
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has suspended the membership of 28 parliamentarians and provincial assembly members elected during by-polls after the 18th amendment.
The legislators will remain suspended until the passage of the 20th Amendment.
A four member bench of the SC comprising of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Tariq Pervez and Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani heard the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. |

| KARACHI, JAN 27 (APP) - President Asif Zardari Friday formally launched a scheme titled "Waseela e Haq Sindh" aimed at creating a new middle class in the province by providing self employment opportunities to thirty five thousand youth between the ages 19 to 35, who have at least passed secondary school examination and are unemployed.

KARACHI - Four female candidates have been short-listed for the upcoming Senate elections, and one of them is Sharmila Farooqui who was banned for 20 years in 2000 from running for any office. Nevertheless, one of the four candidates would be finalised after an interview at the Sindh Chief Minister’s House on Tuesday (tomorrow). The interview would be conducted by Member National Assembly Faryal Talpur – President Asif Ali Zardari’s sister – and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah. Out of 37 applications received, the Sindh chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has short-listed member of the provincial assembly Humera Alwani, Sadia Javed, Hina Dastagir and Sharmila Farooqui for the reserved seat for women on Sindh’s quota.
Farooqui, a strong candidate for the Senate seat, was removed as chief minister’s information adviser amid the Supreme Court’s pending decision regarding her plea bargain. |
